Oil Tanker Odessa Set to Discharge at Hyundai Oilbank
An oil tanker is heading to South Korea's Hyundai Oilbank after passing the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel reappeared near the UAE last week with its tracker on.
An oil tanker is currently traveling toward South Korea to deliver cargo to a refinery operated by HD HYUNDAI, following its passage through the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Shipping data indicates that the Malta-flagged vessel, named the Odessa, navigated the strait on April 13. The Suezmax tanker, which has a capacity of approximately 1 million barrels, reportedly deactivated its AIS tracker before resurfacing on April 17 near the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. Such movements in the region are closely watched by energy traders, as they can influence the market dynamics for global benchmarks including Brent Crude Oil and West Texas Oil. A spokesperson for the South Korean refining company confirmed that the vessel is heading to its facility but declined to specify the nature of the cargo. The ship is managed by Dynacom, a firm based in Greece. Regional market observers in Singapore noted that while the loading origin was not explicitly stated in the tracking data, the arrival of the tanker marks a significant delivery for the refiner's operations.
