Oil Prices Fall as Trump Cites Progress in Iran Talks
Crude prices dropped significantly on Wednesday after President Trump announced that negotiations with Iran are nearing a conclusion. While Brent crude settled at 105.02 dollars, analysts warn that global supply remains tight and inventories continue to decline amid ongoing Middle Eastern shipping disruptions.
Brent Crude Oil prices fell 5.63% to $105.02 on Wednesday after Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran entered final stages. West Texas Intermediate also dropped 5.66% to $98.26 as the United States signaled a potential de-escalation. Crude could reach $200 if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely shut through year-end.
### Markets Price in Diplomatic Hope The price drop followed Donald Trump's announcement that a deal with Iran is nearing completion. While the president warned of further attacks without an agreement, the market reacted to the prospect of normalized flows. Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran is ready to develop safe shipping protocols with coastal states.
