Oakley Capital Acquires Majority Stake in GLAS for £1 Billion

Oakley Capital, a British private equity firm, has announced its agreement to acquire a majority stake in Global Loan Agency Service (GLAS), a London-based debt administration services provider, for £1 billion. The transaction includes co-investment from La Caisse, a Canadian pension fund, and signifies a notable shift in ownership from the U.S. buyout firm Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, which will maintain a minor equity interest in GLAS.
GLAS, founded in 2011, plays a crucial role in the financial infrastructure by administering over $700 billion in assets across private credit, leveraged finance, capital markets, and bankruptcy services. This acquisition underscores the continued interest of institutional investors in debt administration services, highlighting the strategic value of such infrastructure in the financial sector.
