Novo Nordisk and Aspect Biosystems partner on cell based diabetes treatments

Novo Nordisk and Aspect Biosystems have partnered to develop cell-based diabetes treatments. The project uses 3D bioprinting to create insulin-producing cells.

Novo Nordisk A/S and Aspect Biosystems announced a partnership on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, to develop cell-based treatments for diabetes. Under the terms of the agreement, Aspect Biosystems, a privately held company based in Canada CACA, will lead the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of these therapies. Novo Nordisk A/Swill make an equity investment in Aspect and provide research funding while retaining certain options and rights to expand its involvement in the future. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
