President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has approved a minor cabinet reorganization, appointing a new finance minister to lead the nation's economic strategy. The move, announced by the presidency on Tuesday, involves the promotion of a junior official to a senior cabinet post and the departure of two other ministers.
Taiwo Oyedele, who previously served as the minister of state for finance, has been named the minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy. He succeeds Wale Edun, who has exited the role as part of the administrative changes.

The shuffle also affected the ministry of housing and urban development, where Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has departed his position. To fill the vacancy, the president has named Muttaqha Rabe Darma as the ministerial nominee for the portfolio. The adjustments were detailed in an official statement from the president's office in Abuja, signaling a shift in the leadership of the country's economic and urban development sectors.
