The decline follows a nearly 7% slide during the previous week, marking the steepest weekly drop for the index in a year.
The financial turmoil has been accompanied by a major shakeup in regulatory leadership. The Indonesia Financial Services Authority stated that its chief has quit along with three other senior officials, including the deputy chief and the head of capital markets. Furthermore, the chief of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, iman rachman, has also resigned from his position. In response to the vacancies, the regulator named friderica widyasari dewi as the interim chief on Saturday, while hasan fawzi was appointed as the executive chief for capital markets to oversee the sector during this period of uncertainty.
