The shipping major MSC has announced the implementation of a war surcharge for cargo shipments destined for African nations and Indian Ocean islands. This decision follows significant disruptions to maritime traffic in the strategic waterways of the Straits of Hormuz and Bab El-Mandeb. The new fees became effective on Thursday, targeting routes originating from the Indian subcontinent and the Gulf countries.
