The Bank of Japan is expected to raise its policy rate to 1.0% in June, according to 65% of economists polled by Reuters. The central bank held rates at 0.75% in April despite three board members calling for an immediate hike. A June hike would support the yen after authorities spent roughly 10 trillion yen ($63.35 billion) on currency interventions in recent weeks.
