Most Americans say Trump has not explained Iran war goals
A Reuters poll finds 66 percent of Americans say President Trump has not explained his Iran war goals. His approval rose to 36 percent despite rising gas costs.
President Donald Trump has not clearly explained the military goals of the United States in its war with Iran, according to 66% of Americans. The Reuters/Ipsos poll, completed Monday evening, shows 33% of Republicans and nearly all Democrats lack clarity on the conflict's objectives. Persistent public confusion regarding the war's purpose may erode political support ahead of midterm elections.
### War Costs Hit American Households The conflict began February 28 with a joint bombing campaign by the U.S. and Israel. While fighting cooled in recent weeks, the economic impact remains severe as gasoline prices rose 50% nationwide. Roughly 63% of Americans said their personal financial situation has suffered from these energy costs, up from 55% in mid-March.
