Morocco's trade deficit reached 127 billion dirhams in the first four months of the year as rising energy costs drove a 12.7 percent increase in imports. While automotive exports grew by 18.6 percent, phosphate exports declined slightly following production cuts at OCP Group.

Morocco saw its annual trade deficit widen 18.4% to 127 billion dirhams ($13.8 billion) during the first four months of the year. The gap expanded as a 12.7% surge in imports outpaced an 8.7% rise in total exports. Energy imports rose 12% to 41.8 billion dirhams, reflecting the impact of Middle East tensions on fuel prices.
