META PLATFORMS INC-CLASS A raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to $125B–$145B on Wednesday afternoon. The revision follows the release of its Muse Spark AI model and plans for layoffs to fund infrastructure. Meta is projected to surpass its rivals to become the world’s largest online advertiser by net revenue this year.
### Ad Revenue to Overtake Industry Leaders Emarketer researchers project Meta will generate $243.46B in global net ad revenue this year. This total would exceed the $239.54B expected for ALPHABET INC-CL A, marking the first time Meta takes the top industry spot. The figures exclude traffic acquisition costs for both entities.
