A humanitarian emergency is unfolding across Afghanistan AFAFas over 2.5 million Afghan migrants have been expelled from Iran IRIRand Pakistan PKPK under massive repatriation programs. This large-scale movement of people occurs during the harsh winter months, returning millions to a nation where 17 million people already face acute hunger. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) estimates that 3 million additional people now face acute hunger specifically due to the return of these migrants and the subsequent loss of remittance income they previously sent from abroad.
