Marsh reports higher Q1 profit on strong insurance demand
Marsh reported adjusted earnings of $3.29 per share as total revenue rose to $7.6 billion. Demand for risk and insurance services drove the quarterly growth.
The global insurance brokerage firm MARSH & MCLENNAN COS, headquartered in the United States, reported a rise in its first-quarter adjusted profit on Thursday. This growth was primarily driven by robust results in its risk and insurance services unit, as insurance demand remains resilient despite ongoing economic uncertainty.
Revenue for the risk and insurance services business reached $5.1 billion for the three months ended March 31, marking a 6% increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, the company's consulting arm reported an 11% rise in revenue. On an adjusted basis, earnings per share increased to $3.29, compared with $3.06 a year earlier, while total revenue grew 7.6% to $7.6 billion.
