Leapmotor to Begin Spanish EV Production in October
The Chinese automaker reported a 2025 net profit of 0.54 billion yuan and is finalizing assembly plans with Stellantis. Spanish production starts this October.
Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology Co., Ltd. has announced that it expects to commence mass production at its assembly facility in Spain starting in October. The electric vehicle manufacturer, which is based in China, is currently finalizing several projects with Stellantis as part of its broader international growth strategy. Stellantis, a major shareholder in the company, has formed a joint venture with the automaker to facilitate its expansion into global markets. According to Leapmotor's recent earnings statement, the Spanish production site is a key component of this partnership. > An assembly project in Spain is expected to start mass production in October. In addition to its operational updates, the company reported a significant financial recovery. For the 2025 fiscal year, the automaker achieved a net profit of 0.54 billion yuan ($78.31 million), rebounding from a net loss of 2.82 billion yuan recorded the previous year.
