Kenya KEKE's trade ministry announced on January 15, 2026, that a preliminary bilateral trade agreement with China CNCNhas been reached, providing 98 percent duty-free access for exports to the Chinese market. This agreement, technically known as an Early Harvest Arrangement, was reached last month following negotiations that were kept confidential at the time. Korir Singoei and other officials noted that this step is a vital structural response to the persistent trade imbalance between the two countries.
