A banking syndicate led by JPMorgan Chase & Co. is preparing to test investor appetite with a pair of significant debt offerings in the technology and software sectors. The move comes amid a period of heightened market volatility and shifting sentiment regarding the long-term impact of artificial intelligence on software business models.
The first major test involves the financing for the take-private acquisition of Electronic Arts Inc.. A group of lenders launched a $5.75 billion cross-border loan on Monday to support the record-breaking $55 billion leveraged buyout. This massive deal, which was announced in September, involves a consortium of investors including Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners.
