Italy's data protection authority has issued a 17.6 million euro fine against Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. following an investigation into the bank's handling of customer data during a transition to its digital subsidiary, Isybank. The regulator determined that the bank illicitly processed information belonging to approximately 2.4 million customers who were unilaterally moved to the digital unit.
