Italy Unemployment Rate Remains Stable at Five Point Six Percent Despite Monthly Job Losses

ITwas 5.6% in December. This headline figure was stable relative to the previous month but occurred alongside a net loss of 20,000 jobs in Italyduring December. The results outperformed expectations, as a Reuters poll of eight analysts had forecast a December jobless rate of 5.8%. ISTAT also announced that the unemployment rate in November was revised down to 5.6% from an originally reported 5.7%.
