Italy prosecutors opened a corruption probe into a retired judge and two associates over the €13.5 billion ($15.6 billion) Sicily bridge project on Tuesday. The investigation follows the Court of Auditors' refusal to authorize the bridge in October. This development threatens a flagship infrastructure priority for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s administration.
