Iran has formally accused Israel of conducting a major strike against its facilities in the South Pars gas field, a move that has triggered a significant escalation in regional hostilities and sent global energy markets into a tailspin. The South Pars field is the Iranian portion of the world's largest natural gas deposit, shared with Qatar. In response to the attack, Tehran launched a series of missile strikes targeting energy infrastructure in neighboring Gulf states, specifically hitting targets in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. QatarEnergy reported substantial damage at the Ras Laffan Industrial City, while Saudi officials confirmed they intercepted four ballistic missiles aimed at Riyadh and a drone targeting a gas facility in the eastern province.
