The United Kingdom-based product testing and certifications giant INTERTEK GROUP PLC is evaluating a potential separation of its operations into two distinct entities. The proposed plan involves splitting the company into an energy and infrastructure business alongside a testing and assurance business, a move that sent shares climbing as much as 14% on Tuesday.
According to the company, the restructuring is designed to enhance growth and maximize returns for shareholders. If the board decides to move forward, the implementation of the demerger is expected to be completed by mid-2027. The potential separation could be executed through either a sale or a spin-off of the respective units.
