India excludes most farm products from trade deal with United States

Trade Minister Piyush Goyal says over 90 percent of Indian farm products are excluded from the US deal. Textile firms using US cotton will see zero tariffs.

Indian Trade Minister Piyush Goyal announced on February 12, 2026, that around 90%–95% of agricultural products produced in India ININ have been excluded from the South Asian nations–U.S. trade deal. This decision was made specifically to protect the interests of domestic farmers during the ongoing negotiations with the United States USUS.
