David Valadao Advances to California District 22 Runoff
Republican incumbent David Valadao has secured a spot in the November general election after leading the primary with 44.1 percent of the vote. He will face either Randy Villegas or Jasmeet Bains as the two Democrats remain in a close race for the second runoff position.
Republican incumbent David Valadao secured 44.1% of the vote in the District 22 primary on Tuesday evening to advance to the November runoff. The race for the second spot remains too close to call between two Democratic challengers. The seat was identified as being at high risk of flipping between parties following the redrawing of California’s congressional district boundaries.
