WASHINGTON — The International Monetary Fund has announced the approval of an $8.1 billion, four-year loan for Ukraine, with an immediate disbursement of $1.5 billion. This arrangement, established under the Extended Fund Facility, is part of a broader $136.5 billion international support framework intended to assist the nation as it enters the fourth year of the conflict following the invasion by Russia. The executive board's decision underscores the global commitment to stabilizing the Ukrainian economy amidst ongoing hostilities that have devastated local infrastructure.
