The potential transaction represents a significant liquidity event for Hellman and Friedman. The private equity firm acquired Cordis from Cardinal Health Inc. in 2021 for a price of approximately $1 billion. Before that acquisition, Cardinal Health Inc.had held the company for several years after purchasing it from its previous owner.
