Alphabet Inc. is reportedly in discussions with Shenzhen Envicool Technology Co., Ltd. and other firms in China to procure liquid cooling equipment for its data centers. This move comes as the tech giant seeks to manage the extreme heat generated by high-density artificial intelligence computing. A procurement team from the company's operations in Taiwan recently visited the region to secure parts amid a tightening global supply chain. Sources in Singapore and Beijing indicate that the team met with Envicool and plans to engage with at least one other supplier during their trip. Liquid cooling technology has become essential for modern AI data centers, as high-density computing generates heat levels that traditional air-based systems cannot effectively manage. The interest from Google highlights the growing importance of specialized cooling hardware in maintaining the performance of next-generation server clusters. The global market for these cooling solutions is on a steep upward trajectory. According to data from JPMorgan Chase & Co., the market for AI server liquid cooling systems is projected to reach $17 billion by 2026, up from $8.9 billion last year. This growth is largely fueled by the massive hardware requirements of NVIDIA Corporation and other major cloud service providers. Envicool, which currently holds a market value of approximately $14 billion, recently showcased a coolant distribution unit specifically designed to meet Google’s technical specifications. A report from The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. suggests that the company is well-positioned for growth, with a pipeline that includes potential orders for fifth-generation components. To support this expansion, Envicool is increasing its manufacturing footprint while establishing new facilities in Thailand and the United States. While the market remains fragmented, Chinese suppliers are increasingly competitive due to high domestic demand and optimized production costs. Other key players in the supply chain include Lingyi iTech (Guangdong) Company and server manufacturer LENOVO GROUP LTD. Within the broader Asian supply network, Foxconn Technology Co., Ltd. continues to serve as a primary partner for Google’s regional operations. The surge in AI infrastructure development is also driving demand for related hardware. Companies like Zhongji Innolight Co., Ltd., which specializes in optical transceivers, are among the manufacturers benefiting as the race to build out global data center capacity intensifies.
