Singapore (Reuters) — Global bond markets experienced a sharp decline on Monday as an intensifying conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran sent energy prices soaring. Brent Crude Oil climbed above $115 per barrel, a 20% jump that marks its highest price point since July 2022. The surge was triggered by supply cuts from major regional producers and growing anxiety over potential shipping blockades in the Strait of Hormuz.
George Boubouras, head of research at K2 Asset Management, noted that the price movement reflects deep market uncertainty.
