IMF and Ghana Agree on Final Support Programme Review
Ghana and the IMF reached a staff-level agreement on the final review of their support programme. The nation has requested a non-financing policy instrument.
Ghana and the International Monetary Fund reached a staff-level agreement on the sixth and final review of their support program. The milestone marks the conclusion of the country's financial bailout relationship with the IMF. Ghana's authorities requested a non-financing Policy Coordination Instrument to replace the current arrangement.
The presidency of Ghana confirmed the agreement on Friday afternoon. This final review concludes a multi-year financial rescue package designed to stabilize the national economy. The IMF Executive Board must still provide final approval for the staff-level deal.
