The manufacturing sector in Germany expanded at its most rapid pace since May 2022, driven by a surge in production and new orders despite geopolitical headwinds. The S&P Global Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for German manufacturing climbed to 52.2 in March, up from 50.9 in February and exceeding the preliminary flash reading of 51.7. Any reading above the 50.0 threshold indicates growth in the sector.
