General Mills Sells Haagen-Dazs Mainland China Shops
General Mills has agreed to sell its Haagen-Dazs shops in mainland China to an investor group including Ningji. The buyer receives an exclusive brand license for shops and gifting as the U.S. food company continues to reshape its global portfolio.
GENERAL MILLS INC agreed to sell its Häagen-Dazs ice-cream shops in mainland China to an investor group including Chinese tea chain operator Ningji. The deal includes an exclusive brand license for Häagen-Dazs shops and gifting businesses within the mainland market. General Mills will continue to own and operate Häagen-Dazs retail and foodservice operations in China outside the mainland.
General Mills announced the agreement on Monday. Ningji will take over physical storefronts while the Minneapolis-based company retains ownership of Häagen-Dazs retail and foodservice channels outside the mainland.
