France lawmakers approved Emmanuel Moulin to lead the Bank of France on May 20 as part of his confirmation process after 52.7% of votes were cast in favor of his appointment. The former chief of staff to President Emmanuel Macron will now join the European Central Bank's rate-setting governing council. His appointment secures a key ally for Macron as the country manages debt levels reaching 115% of GDP.
