France expects G7 agreement on maritime ban for Russian oil

Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot says G7 nations may soon ban maritime services for Russian oil. France hopes to include this in the next EU sanctions package.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot stated on Saturday that several G7 foreign ministers have expressed a willingness to move forward with a maritime services ban on Russian oil. Speaking immediately after a meeting of the G7 foreign ministers in Munich, Barrot noted that France FRFR is reasonably optimistic that a deal can be reached on the matter.
