European Union plans new measures to boost energy infrastructure investment

The EU and EIB are planning new funding tools to boost energy grid upgrades. These measures aim to mobilize private capital and lower costs for consumers.

The European Commission and the European Investment Bank are developing a set of new funding facilities to mobilise private investment and increase financing for energy infrastructure across the EU EUEU. This initiative, which is currently a draft strategy under discussion, seeks to address a significant investment shortfall that impacts the climate and energy goals of the union as well as the energy costs for both households and industry.
