European co-located renewable and battery capacity will surge 450% to 35 GW by 2030, according to Aurora Energy Research. Solar-plus-storage projects led the 6.3 GW of capacity deployed across 20 European power markets in 2025. Investors are using batteries to capture value as negative price hours and grid curtailment reach record levels.
