ESR secures $850 million to fund Asia-Pacific expansion
ESR secured $850 million from shareholders to expand its logistics and data centre businesses in Asia. The capital supports growth in key regional markets.
The Singapore-based asset manager ESR has secured $850 million in fresh equity from its existing shareholders to accelerate growth in its logistics and data center businesses. The capital injection is intended to strengthen the balance sheet of the group, which operates extensively across the Asia-Pacific region.
This funding round follows a major transition for the company, which was taken private in July 2025 in a $7.09 billion transaction. That deal was led by a consortium that included Starwood Capital Group and WARBURG PINCUS CAPITAL-CW. The new equity builds on a broader strategy to streamline operations, which has already seen the firm generate more than $2 billion in net proceeds through the divestment of non-core holdings and the recapitalization of assets since January 2025.
