Resner Leads Crye in Shasta County Supervisor Race
Early primary results show Erin Resner holding a strong lead with over 55% of the vote against incumbent Kevin Crye in the race for Shasta County District 1 supervisor. If Resner maintains her current margin above the 50% threshold, she will win the seat outright without needing a November runoff.
Erin Resner leads the Shasta County District 1 supervisor race in United States with 55.19% of the vote as of early morning Wednesday. She currently holds a 17.41% lead over incumbent Kevin Crye based on preliminary data from two of 11 precincts. The outcome determines the leadership of a district covering key Redding neighborhoods and the Buckeye and Keswick areas.
### Resner Secures Early Majority Partial data from the Shasta County elections office shows Resner maintaining a lead that would avoid a runoff. Candidates require over 50% of the vote to win the seat outright; otherwise, the top two finishers face a general election on November 3. In a primary election earlier in 2022, Resner outperformed Crye by 480 votes but fell short of the 50% threshold required for an outright win. Resner told the Record Searchlight she is excited about the turnout and noted that starting at nearly 56% is a positive position.
