Francois Villeroy de Galhau, the Governor of the Bank of France and a member of the European Central Bank (ECB) governing council, stated on Thursday that there is currently no justification for the ECB to increase interest rates. Despite the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, Villeroy emphasized that financial stability is not presently under threat.
