Danske Commodities Profit Drops 52 Percent on Low Volatility
The energy trader posted adjusted earnings of 186 million euros for 2025. Low volatility weighed on results despite growth in the firm's green energy portfolio.
The energy trading firm Danske Commodities, based in Denmark, reported a significant decline in its annual financial performance for 2025. The company, which is a subsidiary of the energy major EQUINOR ASA headquartered in Norway, saw its profits drop by 52% compared to the previous year. This downturn was primarily attributed to a period of lower market volatility and structural challenges within the natural gas sector.
Danske Commodities posted adjusted earnings before tax of 186 million euros ($219.57 million) for the full year. This figure represents a sharp decrease from the results recorded in 2024. Despite the decline, the earnings remained within the company's guided range of 100 million to 200 million euros.
