Cuba confirms limited communications with United States amid rising bilateral tensions and fuel shortages

Cuba has acknowledged exchanging messages with the United States via embassies though no formal dialogue exists. This comes as U.S. pressure restricts fuel.

While these contacts have taken place, Carlos Fernandez de Cossioexplicitly stated that the two nations have not yet established a formal table of dialogue. This admission serves as the first hint from Cubathat the two sides are in conversation after tensions flared in January following the United Statescapture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro nicolas maduro.
