ConocoPhillips to Restart Norwegian North Sea Gas Fields
Norway approved a 20 billion crown plan by ConocoPhillips to restart three fields. The project targets 120 million barrels of oil equivalent by late 2028.
ConocoPhillips received approval from the Norway energy ministry to invest 20 billion Norwegian crowns ($2.16 billion) to restart three offshore fields. The Previously Produced Fields project targets the Albuskjell, Vest Ekofisk, and Tommeliten Gamma sites in the Greater Ekofisk area. This redevelopment secures long-term gas flows to Europe as the region seeks stable energy partners.
### Reviving Shut-In Assets for European Energy Security The project involves a joint redevelopment of fields that were shut down in 2019. ConocoPhillips and its partners expect the sites to deliver between 90 million and 120 million barrels of oil equivalent in recoverable gas and condensate.
