CMB Tech Q4 core earnings beat analyst expectations
CMB Tech reported Q4 core earnings of 322 million dollars today. Robust shipping demand and vessel sales helped the Belgian group beat analyst forecasts.
The shipping group Cmb.Tech N.V. reported fourth-quarter core earnings that exceeded market expectations on Thursday, as robust tanker and dry-bulk markets allowed the group to lock in charters and sell older ships at high prices. Headquartered in Belgium, the company reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of $322 million for the quarter ended December, surpassing the $295.67 million anticipated by analysts in an LSEG poll.
Tanker markets have seen significant benefits from longer voyage durations and compliance constraints related to Western sanctions on crude oil from Russia. Additionally, steady commodity flows to Asia have underpinned demand in the dry-bulk sector. The company utilized this favorable market environment to divest from older vessels and secure long-term contracts at attractive rates.
