China eases ban on BHP Jimblebar fines until next week
Beijing will allow imports of BHP Jimblebar fines until next week. This move follows a recent expansion of trade restrictions against the mining supplier.
China has reportedly decided to ease a ban on Jimblebar fines, an iron ore product from BHP Group Limited, for a period of one week. According to sources on Friday, the temporary reprieve comes just one day after Beijing expanded its restrictions against the company, which is the third-largest supplier of iron ore to the country. The relaxation of the ban is expected to last until next week, providing a short window for shipments of the specific iron ore grade to enter the market. Market participants are viewing the move as a brief interruption in the ongoing trade tensions that have recently seen an expansion of prohibited products.
