China dominates low carbon industrial project funding
A Mission Possible Partnership report shows that 13 of 19 funded low-carbon industrial projects are located in China while the U.S. accounts for only one. Global investment in green industry reached 43 billion dollars as fossil fuel volatility drove interest in sustainable energy alternatives.
China finalized funding for 13 low-carbon industrial projects between November and April, representing 68% of the 19 global deals reached during that period. The 19 total projects funded worldwide represent a 137% increase from the eight projects funded a year earlier. For investors, the data signals a widening gap in industrial decarbonization as Chinese momentum outpaces Western competitors.
### China Leads the Global Green Shift The 19 projects reaching final investment decisions carry a total value of $43 billion, according to a report from the Mission Possible Partnership (MPP). While China finalized 13 of these deals across the methanol and aluminum sectors, the United States secured funding for only one project. This disparity highlights a shift in where capital is being deployed for heavy industry transformation.
