Profits at industrial firms in China expanded at their fastest rate in six months during March, providing a sign of resilience within an otherwise uneven economic recovery. Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Monday indicated that industrial profits rose 15.8% year-on-year in March, a slight acceleration from the 15.2% growth recorded during the January-February period. For the full first quarter, profits grew by 15.5% as the broader economy expanded by 5%.
