China factory activity expanded at its fastest pace since late 2020 as the RatingDog manufacturing PMI rose to 52.2 in April. The reading, compiled by S&P GLOBAL INC, beat the 51.0 level expected by market participants. Stronger output and surging orders confirm the economy is entering a recovery stage despite rising raw material costs.
The April figure climbed from 50.8 in March, staying above the 50-mark that separates growth from contraction. RatingDog founder Yao Yu said the recovery is driven by order growth and optimistic expectations from price effects.
