China Exports Expected to Rise 7.1 Percent in Early 2026
A Reuters poll suggests China outbound shipments rose 7.1 percent in the first two months of 2026. This growth comes despite ongoing trade tensions and tariffs.
China is expected to report a significant acceleration in export growth for the first two months of 2026, according to a recent poll of economists. This trend suggests that the world’s second-largest economy remains on a trajectory to exceed the record $1.2 trillion trade surplus achieved in 2025.
A median forecast from 23 economists indicates that outbound shipments likely grew by 7.1% year-on-year in U.S. dollar terms during the January-February period. This figure represents an increase from the 6.6% growth recorded in December. The official trade data is scheduled for release on Tuesday.
