The Canadian dollar reached a near three-week peak against the greenback on Monday, bolstered by a de-escalation in geopolitical rhetoric and the prospect of a majority government following special elections in Canada. The USD/CAD exchange rate saw the loonie gain 0.3%, trading at 1.3795 per U.S. dollar, or 72.49 U.S. cents, after hitting an intraday high of 1.3791.
