Thailand joins UN maritime arbitration with Cambodia
Thailand will participate in a UN compulsory conciliation process to resolve a maritime boundary dispute in the Gulf of Thailand estimated to hold 300 billion dollars in energy resources. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stated that Bangkok will suspend other bilateral talks and keep border gates closed.

Thailand will join a United Nations maritime arbitration process with Cambodia to resolve a long-standing dispute over offshore energy resources. The move follows Cambodia's launch of a compulsory conciliation process under UNCLOS after Thailand ended a 2001 framework pact. Resolution would unlock an estimated 12 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and large volumes of oil valued at $300 billion.
