Bunzl annual profit drops 9.8 percent on tariff issues
Bunzl reported a 9.8 percent drop in annual adjusted pretax profit on Monday. Results were impacted by tariff disruptions and weak trade in North America.
The United Kingdom-based business supplies distributor Bunzl plc reported a 9.8% decrease in its annual adjusted pretax profit on Monday. This decline was primarily driven by weaker trading conditions in its key North American division, which faced additional pressure from supply-chain disruptions related to tariffs. According to the company's financial report, the North American market remains a significant component of its global operations, making the division's performance a central factor in the overall earnings drop. The distributor, which provides a wide range of essential business products, noted that the combination of market volatility and trade-related logistical challenges impacted its margins throughout the fiscal year. Despite the downturn, Bunzl continues to manage its international supply chains while monitoring the ongoing effects of trade policies on its distribution network.
