The prominent United Kingdom warehouse owner Segro is significantly expanding its footprint in the data centre sector, targeting new developments across France, Germany, Italy, and Poland to capitalize on the global surge in artificial intelligence investment.
Chief Executive David Sleath confirmed the strategic shift, noting that the company is currently focused on securing necessary planning permissions and power infrastructure for several international sites. The move comes as the real estate investment trust seeks to leverage its extensive portfolio, which currently spans approximately 10.9 million square metres of space.
